THE CANON EOS-1D
Arguably one of the most impressive DSLR cameras to date, Canon made news moments ago with the release of its EOD-1D X. The flagship series model adopts a full-frame sensor and harnesses 18 megapixels. An ISO rating goes from 100 to 51200 and can be expanded to an impressive 204,800. The 1D X also incorporates a new 61-point auto focus system as well as software configuration tools akin to those on the 7D model. Internally, the EOS-1DX features three DIGIC processors, including Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors that maintain the ability to deliver 17 times more processing speed than the previous DIGIC 4. D dedicated DIGIC 4 processor remains integrated for metering and AF control.

THE NIKON D5100
Nikon has released a new entry level pro-function camera, the Nikon D5100 Digital SLR. Taking the torch from the D5000, the 5100 represents the latest in still/video hybrids, featuring a new set of video tools and 1080p HD quality recording. Add a boosted sensor and better low-light sensitivity… and we’re cursing ourselves for buying a Nikon D3100 last month (okay, maybe not– I love that camera!).
The D5100 has been given a similar sensor as the higher-end D700, a unit that provides higher resolutions and better light sensitivity than its predecessors. This sensor is rated as 16.2MP, and provides high-quality, low-noise images as high as ISO 25600 in low-light scenarios. Another nice quality of the D5100 is the swivel-style LCD display. This display can be moved in many directions to provide new perspectives, ranging from low and high angles without the need for a tripod.
The Nikon D5100 Digital SLR is shipping now. It is currently selling with either an 18-55mm lens or an 18-105mm lens option, but not available as a body-only package.

SECRET WARS
For those that don’t know Secret Wars is a live art battle competition. Teams have 90 minutes, armed with only black [edding] marker pens and a vague theme (usually something about insulting the other team). Well the Euro League of this competition is now coming to an end and we went along a couple of weeks ago to the semi final to see Lisbon get owned by Amsterdam and Birmingham show London that there’s a new art capital of England.

THE CANNON EOS 1D
Following up closely on Nikon’s most recent D3s offering, Canon replies quickly with their EOS-1D MARK IV DSLR. The 16 MP 1D MARK IV appears to match the D3s stride-for-stride in addition to providing true 1080p high-definition video.
Some other interesting aspects of the camera include 45-point autofocus system, an ISO range up to 102,400, 10 fps shooting modes and a Dual Digic 4 image processors. The camera should hit retailers before the end of the year in December.
